Magnetic lock installation and precautions

The design of the magnetic lock (or electromagnetic lock) is similar to that of an electromagnet, and it operates based on electromagnetic principles. When current flows through the silicon steel core, the magnetic lock generates a strong attractive force that firmly pulls the iron plate, effectively securing the door in place. **Installation Method** Step 1: Begin by opening the cover with a screwdriver. Then use a hex wrench to punch the mounting board, preparing it for installation. Step 2: Remove the installation board and fold it along the dotted line. Place it in the desired locking position, mark the areas where you need to drill, and then punch those holes. Step 3: A. Once the iron plate is fixed, insert the Allen screw into the plate, place a rubber washer between two metal washers, and secure it onto the hexagonal screw. Insert the iron plate into the three holes on the door, and push the mushroom head from the other side. Use a hex wrench to tighten the iron plate to the door. B. Secure the side board by fastening it to the pre-drilled door frame using two round-head screws. Make sure to fix them in the long hole of the board, but do not fully lock the edge plate so it can move slightly for positioning adjustments. C. Adjust the side plate so that it aligns properly with the heel plate, ensuring the lock body makes full contact with the iron plate. D. Tighten the main body of the lock and the round-head screws on the side plates. Then, secure all the countersunk screws, remove the round-head screws, and drill the wiring holes. Finally, use a hex wrench to lock the lock body to the side plate. Step 4: Wire the device according to the provided instructions. Step 5: Replace the cover and insert the small aluminum cylinder into the screw hole of the lock body. **Surface Mount Type** When installing a surface-mounted magnetic lock, auxiliary accessories are necessary. We use high-quality, decorative, imported aluminum material to create the Z&L bracket. Each Z&L bracket includes three aluminum components: the longer L1 bracket is used for mounting the lock body, while the shorter Z2 and Z3 brackets are for the iron plate. Z2 is installed on the door and has five counterbores for fixing to the door. Z3 is used for securing the iron plate and has three holes, with the center one aligned with the iron plate's center. The installation steps are as follows: a. Place the L1 bracket inside the Z&L bracket in the locked position and secure it to the door frame or wall using tapping screws. b. Use a hex wrench to fasten the lock body onto the L1 bracket. c. Position the Z2 bracket on the door at the same location as the L1 bracket. d. Insert the iron plate into the three holes of the Z1, temporarily fix it, and close the door to ensure the magnet and iron plate align correctly. Determine the connection points between Z1 and Z2. (Adjust the relative positions of Z1 and Z2 depending on the door thickness.) e. Secure both Z1 and Z2, then fix the helix plate to the Z1 using an M8*25 Allen screw (inserting the screw, iron plate, washer, and rubber washer in sequence). f. If it’s a double door, two Z&L brackets can be used. **Embedded Type** For embedded installation, both inner and outer doors follow the same method. For wooden doors, if the door rib is large enough to accommodate the lock body, installation is straightforward—just cut a suitable slot, install the lock, and secure the screws. Most construction workers can handle this task. However, for aluminum alloy doors, which typically have hollow frames, we offer two installation methods. A. Lining with wooden blocks: Place a piece of wood of the correct size inside the door frame and secure it with screws. This method is simple and widely used. B. Using mounting accessories: This involves using our provided accessories (four-hole iron plate + U-shaped iron) to simplify the installation process. Installation Notes: Ensure the door ribs are slightly larger than the selected lock to allow for proper fit and function. **Glass Door Type** 1. The installation method for glass doors with an aluminum alloy (or other material) frame is similar to that of standard doors. Installation Precautions: Glass doors must have an aluminum alloy frame. Since the magnetic lock requires a short distance (less than 6 mm) between the door and the frame, the gap should be kept under 6 mm. A stable floor spring is essential to ensure accurate lock alignment. 2. For glass doors without a frame, UBK brackets are required. The installation method is similar to surface mounting, but during the third step, when installing the iron plate, the U-shaped groove, rubber cushion, and stainless steel gasket (on the side of the lock screw) are placed on the glass door. Secure the glass door with a hex socket screw, then fix the iron plate to the U-shaped groove. Depending on the glass thickness and lock model, different types of mounting accessories such as the UBK bracket are available. 3. Alternatively, use the AB bracket to mount the AB frame to the glass door using special glass adhesive (or double-sided tape), and then attach the iron plate to the bracket.
