On the afternoon of October 16, Shanghai Petroleum conducted a preliminary acceptance of the first batch of 23 modified petrol tankers that were equipped with electronic locks by the logistics fleet. This new system replaces the traditional one-time lead seals, significantly reducing manual operations and enhancing the reliability and control over oil quality during transportation. The electronic lock system consists of a locking mechanism installed on the tank truck, a remote control key for loading and unloading ports, and a decoder located at both the gas station and the oil depot platform. Before any loading or unloading takes place, the decoder must detect that the remote control key is within the valid range and authorize it to unlock the system. This means that only authorized personnel with the correct key, in the designated area, and within the specified distance can operate the system, ensuring a higher level of security and compliance.
During the summer high-temperature period, when gasoline delivery on highways posed certain challenges, the logistics center arranged for 36 fleets of gasoline vehicles to be fitted with these electronic locks. The installation process followed uniform standards, replacing the old iron boxes with 3 mm thick steel panels to improve durability and security. The manufacturer is currently working closely with the company to make further improvements based on their feedback. It is expected that the first batch of tankers will begin trial operations in early November, marking an important step forward in modernizing the fuel transportation process.
