On December 28, 2012, over 150 prominent entrepreneurs from the Kunshan hardware and electrical industry gathered for a significant event—the inaugural general meeting of the Kunshan Hardware & Electrical Circulation Chamber of Commerce. This momentous occasion marked the official formation of the chamber, bringing together key players in the local industry to shape its future.
The meeting saw the election of the first council, with Mr. Cheng Daofu, Chairman of Aimei Electrical and Mechanical, elected as the president. Mr. Chen Xiaojie, President of Henglong Real Estate, was appointed as honorary president, while Mr. Shi Yong of Huashi Hardware & Electrical and seven other executives were named vice presidents. Mr. Zhou Liqiu, General Manager of Henglong Real Estate, was appointed as the Secretary-General.
The agenda included six main topics, all of which were thoroughly discussed and voted on by the delegates. Mr. Zhou Liqiu provided a detailed report on the preparation process, from the initial approval of the chamber to the development of its membership structure. His presentation received strong support from the attendees.
Mr. Zhang Hui, head of the social affairs department at the Kunshan Civil Affairs Bureau, officially announced the establishment of the chamber, marking formal recognition from both the business authority and registration management unit. The announcement was met with enthusiastic applause and warm congratulations.
The General Assembly also reviewed and passed three key documents: the Chamber’s Constitution, contribution payment standards, and selection measures. All proposals were unanimously approved, laying a solid foundation for the chamber's governance.
During the recess, the first board of directors meeting took place, where the leadership team was formally elected. Mr. Zheng Daofu was named the first president, while Mr. Chen Longjie and Mr. Chen Xiaojie were appointed as honorary presidents. Mr. Shi Yong, along with several other executives, was elected as executive vice presidents. Mr. Zhou Liqiu was confirmed as the first Secretary-General.
Notable figures such as Wu Weidong, Vice Chairman of the Kunshan CPPCC, and Meng Linyi, Deputy Director of the Municipal Party Committee, presented honorary plaques to the newly formed leadership team, expressing their confidence in the chamber's future. They encouraged the team to lead with vision and set an example for the industry.
A grand unveiling ceremony was held by Mr. Zheng Daofu and Ms. Chen Yongfen, a member of the Kunshan CPPCC Party Committee, further highlighting the importance of the event. The atmosphere was electric, with participants celebrating this historic milestone.
Mr. Shi Yong, representing the chamber, delivered a speech emphasizing the significance of unity and collaboration among members. Mr. Zheng Daofu, in his inaugural address, highlighted the transition from individual operations to collective coordination, showcasing the potential for growth and innovation within the industry.
Wu Weidong, Vice Chairman of the Kunshan City CPPCC and Industry and Commerce Federation, praised the chamber’s role in promoting industrial transformation and modernization. He stressed the importance of communication and cooperation among members to ensure sustainable development.
Chen Yongfen, a key figure in the municipal party committee, emphasized the chamber’s role as a bridge between the government and businesses. She urged the chamber to serve as a platform for policy dissemination, problem-solving, and resource sharing, helping enterprises thrive in a competitive market.
Representatives from related associations also attended the event, offering their congratulations and expressing willingness to collaborate in the future. Their presence underscored the growing network of support for the chamber.
After the meeting, guests and members enjoyed a celebratory dinner, reflecting on the successful launch of the Kunshan Hardware & Electrical Circulation Chamber of Commerce.
