Canada North American Tungsten Company said that the company's sales in the third quarter of fiscal year 2009 (ending June 30) was $15 million and the net loss was $0.8 million. The net loss for the same period last year was $1.3 million, as the company received $1 million in sales of a mineral asset this year. The company's sales include 64,623 metric tons of tungsten concentrate, 9,026 metric tons of blue tungsten oxide and ammonium paratungstate.
The company's Cantung tungsten mine produced 83,430 metric tons in the third quarter, up 13% from the same period last year. The plant processed a total of 100,206 metric tons of tungsten trioxide with a grade of 1.19%, compared to 1.05% for the same period last year of 104,489 metric tons.
