Electric door installation and maintenance method

Electric doors are a type of automated door system that operates using motorized mechanisms. Jiuzheng Building Materials Network provides detailed guidance on the installation and maintenance of electric doors to ensure smooth operation and long-term durability.

Installation of an Electric Door:

(1) First, determine the location for the indoor control box, which is the device used to operate the sliding door mechanism. This should be placed in a convenient and accessible area.

(2) Connect a 220V power supply to the lower end of the control box. It’s recommended to include a grounding wire with a thickness of 1.37 mm, along with a leakage protection device. Use PVC conduits for hidden wiring to maintain a clean and safe setup.

(3) Install a 32mm diameter PVC pipe from the bottom of the control box down to ground level, passing through the wall to the outside. The pipe should extend 0.1–0.15 meters below the track's surface to allow the outdoor part of the sliding door to enter the building smoothly.

(4) Based on the provided table, measure the required length of the opening. When the door is open, the width of the opening should be at least 0.75–0.8 meters. The height of a standard door should be at least 0.25 meters taller than the actual door height, while a sliding door needs 0.1 meter extra. On the inner side of the end, leave a space of 0.4 meters wide and 0.6 meters high, and add an extra 0.2–0.3 meters to the total length. This allows for converting the access hole into a small maintenance door for easier servicing of the sliding door system.

(5) Before laying the track, leave about 0.8–0.9 meters of space on each side and complete the flooring first. After 2–3 days (or 5–7 days in winter), coordinate with the civil works team during track installation. Be careful not to bend the track while laying it to ensure proper alignment and function.

(6) Finally, install the sliding door, connect the wiring, and perform a test run to ensure the control box functions correctly.

Maintenance of an Electric Door:

When operating the electric door, always use light force and avoid excessive pressure. Ensure there are no obstacles when opening the door. If any issues occur, disconnect the power and clear the obstruction before proceeding.

Regularly clean the surface of the electric door using a soft cloth to prevent scratches. For stains, you can gently wipe with water or alcohol. Avoid using acidic or alkaline substances, as they may damage the finish.

Perform daily checks on all moving parts and hardware. If any components show signs of wear or damage, repair or replace them promptly. Over time, applying a small amount of wax oil or lubricant can reduce friction and keep the door opening and closing smoothly.

The sealing tops and glass strips are crucial for insulation and weatherproofing. If they become worn or loose, replace them immediately to maintain efficiency and comfort.

By following these steps, you can ensure your electric door remains functional, safe, and efficient for years to come.
