Electric door installation and maintenance method

Electric doors are a type of automated door system powered by motors. Jiuzheng Building Materials Network provides detailed guidance on the installation and maintenance of electric doors to ensure smooth operation and long-lasting performance.

Installation of an Electric Door:

(1) First, determine the location for the indoor control box, which is the device used to operate the sliding door mechanism. This should be placed in a convenient and accessible area.

(2) Connect a 220V power supply to the lower end of the control box. It’s recommended to include a grounding wire with a thickness of 1.37 mm, along with a leakage protection device. Use PVC conduits for hidden wiring to ensure safety and aesthetics.

(3) Install a 32mm diameter PVC pipe from the bottom of the control box down to ground level, through the wall to the outside. The pipe should extend 0.1–0.15 meters below the track's ground level to allow the outdoor section of the sliding door to enter the building smoothly.

(4) Based on the specifications provided, determine the required opening size. When the door is open, the width of the hole should be at least 0.75–0.8 meters. The height should be 0.25 m more than the door’s height for standard doors, and 0.1 m more for other types. On the inner side of the frame, leave a space of 0.4 m wide and 0.6 m high. You can also add an extra 0.2–0.3 m to the total length to create a small access door for easier maintenance and repairs.

(5) Before laying the track, make sure to leave about 0.8–0.9 meters of space on both sides. Lay the ground first, and after 2–3 days (or 5–7 days in winter), coordinate with the civil works team during track installation. Be careful not to bend the track while laying it to maintain its structural integrity.

(6) Finally, install the sliding door, connect the wiring, and test the control box to ensure proper functionality.

Maintenance of an Electric Door:

When using the electric door, operate it gently without applying excessive force. Always check for obstacles before opening or closing the door. If any obstruction is found, disconnect the power and clear the path immediately.

Keep the surface of the electric door clean by wiping it regularly with a soft cloth. Avoid using harsh materials that could scratch the surface. For stains, you can use water or alcohol for cleaning.

Avoid using acidic or alkaline substances when cleaning, as they may damage the finish or internal components.

Perform daily maintenance to ensure all moving parts remain flexible and functional. If any parts show signs of wear or damage, repair or replace them promptly. Over time, hardware may become stiff. Applying a small amount of wax oil or lubricating oil can reduce friction and keep the door operating smoothly.

The sealing strips and glass panels are crucial for insulation and weatherproofing. If these components become aged or loose, replace them as needed to maintain the door’s efficiency and appearance.

By following these steps, you can ensure your electric door remains in excellent working condition for years to come.
