Since the Internet of Things (IoT) was officially included in China’s national development strategy in 2010, the government has continuously supported next-generation technologies like IoT and cloud computing. Many companies are leveraging these trends to enhance access control systems, integrating IoT for smarter, more secure solutions.

Device security involves using SAM modules and PSAM cards to store and authenticate keys, while algorithm security focuses on adopting approved national cryptographic standards. Some industry experts also suggest that customizable algorithms and two-way decryption could become the next big trend, especially when combined with biometrics or video surveillance for high-security environments.

Although the gap between domestic and international access control systems is narrowing, foreign brands still hold advantages in branding and global recognition. However, Chinese manufacturers excel in customization and cost-effectiveness. To stand out, they must invest more in R&D and adapt quickly to user-specific needs.

Domestic companies should focus on addressing vulnerabilities like the M1 card issue and strengthen their own security infrastructure. By promoting the use of independent, safe, and controllable technologies, they can build stronger market positions. While there's still room for improvement in high-end applications, China's unique market dynamics offer opportunities for innovation and leadership in the one-card access control model.
