Locking method for two kinds of bearings

Locking Methods for Two Types of Bearings

Source: China Bearing Network | Date: February 3, 2013

There are two common methods used to lock bearings, depending on the type and design of the bearing. Understanding these locking techniques is essential for proper installation and long-term performance.

1. Bearing with a Screw Lock: In this type, the bearing is mounted on a screw. To secure it, you only need to tighten the screw that extends from the inner ring. The outer housing can be fixed in place, and the screw can then be locked using a hex wrench. It's important to use the correct size of the hex wrench to ensure a secure fit without damaging the components.

2. Bearing with a Split Lock Sleeve: This method involves a locking sleeve that has a recessed area designed to fit snugly into the inner hole of the bearing. The inner ring of the bearing seat is also partially split. First, the locking sleeve is positioned on the inner ring, and the direction of rotation is considered. Once the bearing sleeve is properly aligned and rotated, the clamping mechanism engages, and the process stops. Finally, the hex wrench is used to lock the screw in place, ensuring a stable and secure connection.
