Locking Methods for Two Types of Bearings
There are two common methods used to lock bearings depending on their design and application. Understanding these techniques is essential for proper installation and maintenance.
1. Screw-attached Bearings: In this type of bearing, the locking mechanism involves securing the screw that extends from the inner ring. The outer housing can be fixed in place, and the screw is tightened using a hex wrench. It's important to choose the correct size of the wrench to ensure a secure and stable connection without damaging the components.
2. Bearings with a Locking Sleeve: This method uses a sleeve with a recess that aligns with the inner hole of the bearing. The inner ring of the bearing seat may also have a similar feature. To install, the sleeve is positioned on the inner ring, and the shaft is rotated until the bearing sleeve locks into place. Once properly aligned, the hex wrench is used to tighten the screw, ensuring the bearing remains securely fastened during operation.
