Liu, a returnee from Japan, studied parking intelligence abroad, while his two team members are young professionals who previously worked on key projects at Huawei and Mobile. Together, they formed a startup focused on developing intelligent parking solutions.
The system includes a mobile terminal for scanning and communication, allowing real-time monitoring of parking activities. By scanning each vehicle, staff can print out entry credentials and track the entire process. Drivers can use their smartphones to scan the QR code on the ticket and check their parking fees anytime, ensuring full transparency.
**Smart Charging and Reduced Arbitrariness**
The system also integrates IoT technology to monitor parking fees and prevent illegal charges. If a vehicle tries to leave without paying, the system automatically locks it. When the car returns, the system will lock again until the fee is settled. Additionally, the system connects with government departments to track vehicles involved in violations, such as unregistered or stolen cars, improving overall parking management efficiency.
**Mobile Access for Better Parking Utilization**
To further enhance parking utilization, the system provides real-time updates on available spaces through LED displays and mobile apps. Drivers can check nearby parking lots, see which ones are free, occupied, or restricted, and even view pricing information. A mobile version of the software is already under development and will be available for download soon.
During peak times, such as holidays, the city may open additional parking areas, and the system will reflect this information in real time, making it easier for drivers to find space. Liu and his team are confident that their solution can effectively tackle parking difficulties and reduce unfair charges.
“We’re ready to provide free equipment when the time is right, and our long-term profit model will rely on advertising,†Liu said. With continued innovation and support, the future of parking in Jinan looks much brighter.
