The Southwest Oil and Gas Field Engineering and Technology Research Institute has introduced the first mobile skid-mounted inspection vehicle designed specifically to address the challenges of large volumes of returning fluid generated during sand fracturing operations in western Sichuan. This innovative solution tackles the high processing costs associated with handling these fluids by enabling on-site testing and analysis. The ability to detect and assess the quality of the returned liquid at the fracturing site provides a solid scientific foundation for its potential reuse.
This mobile testing unit has been successfully deployed, allowing for the efficient reuse of both drilling mud and fracturing fluids. As a result, operational costs have been significantly reduced, and the project has contributed to more sustainable and environmentally friendly manufacturing practices. The technology not only enhances resource efficiency but also supports broader industry efforts toward cleaner production.
On October 12, laboratory personnel conducted field tests at the construction site of the 21-48HF well in Xinsha, analyzing both the fracturing fluid and the returned liquid. This real-time data collection helps ensure that the fluids meet the necessary standards for reuse, further improving the overall effectiveness of the process.
The development of this mobile inspection vehicle marks a significant step forward in the region's oil and gas industry, showcasing the commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility. It sets a new standard for on-site fluid management and could serve as a model for similar projects in other areas facing similar challenges.
