Japan Bell crystalline silicon photovoltaic cell efficiency record

During the year, many of the battery module efficiency world records were overturned. The fact that the actual size of crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells exceeds 26% efficiency is very encouraging. Kaneka and NEDO have achieved this efficiency breakthrough in the development of high-performance and reliable photovoltaic modules.

The previous efficiency record was 25.6%, and this efficiency record marks another important step. This result was measured by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems.

NEDO and Japan's Chung Hua issued a joint report that this efficiency record uses high-quality amorphous silicon, low-resistance electrode technology to combine heterojunction technology with back contact structures to obtain more solar energy.

In June, SunPower broke the silicon battery technology efficiency record, and the efficiency of using laboratory battery components was 24.1%. In addition, ZSW uses CIGS technology to achieve a world record of 22.6% in thin-film solar cell efficiency.

Japan Bell is not well-known in the solar module manufacturing business. However, with this record, its plan will be put into commercial application. The ultimate goal is to use solar technology to significantly reduce the cost of power generation.
