Light and Temperature: Cleome thrives in warm conditions and is heat-tolerant, with an ideal growth temperature between 20°C and 32°C. It prefers bright light and can grow in partial shade, but for a more compact, dwarf appearance, it should receive direct sunlight for at least 4 hours a day. When planting in flower beds, remove spent flowers promptly to avoid seed development and extend the blooming period.
For potted plants, pinch back the top buds at the seedling stage and limit nitrogen fertilizer to encourage a shorter, bushier growth. For cut flowers, plant them slightly closer together and remove lateral buds to promote the growth of the main flower.
