Lin Boqiang: Photovoltaic is a twisted luxury

Abstract During the break of the first Nobel Economist China Summit, Lin Boqiang, vice president of Xinhuadu Business School, spoke with this reporter and expressed his views on the photovoltaic industry. He described it as a "distorted luxury" due to its high cost and relatively poor quality compared to other energy sources. Lin emphasized that the photovoltaic sector struggles to compete with more established and cost-effective options like hydropower and nuclear energy.
During the break of the first Nobel Economist China Summit, Lin Boqiang, vice president of Xinhuadu Business School, spoke with this reporter and expressed his views on the photovoltaic industry. He described it as a "distorted luxury" due to its high cost and relatively poor quality compared to other energy sources. Lin emphasized that the photovoltaic sector struggles to compete with more established and cost-effective options like hydropower and nuclear energy. He pointed out that the production and installation costs of solar power are several times higher than those of hydropower and nuclear energy. As a result, the market is hesitant to invest in photovoltaic technology, and most support comes from government subsidies rather than private demand. This reliance on public funding, he argued, raises concerns about the long-term sustainability of the industry. Despite these challenges, Lin acknowledged that the photovoltaic industry still has potential for future growth. However, he noted that the current phase is a difficult and painful period for the sector. He suggested that innovation, cost reduction, and better policy frameworks will be essential for the industry to become more competitive and viable in the years to come. His comments reflect a cautious but not entirely dismissive outlook on the future of solar energy in China's evolving energy landscape.

Alumina Ceramic Plate

Ceramic plates made of zirconia or alumina have excellent weatherability, and they have no effect on the surface and substrate, whether it is sunlight, rain (even acid rain) or moisture. UV resistance and color stability are fully up to international gray level 4-5.Similarly, large or rapid temperature changes will not affect the properties and appearance of the material. The reasonable combination of bending strength and elasticity makes the ceramic plate have high impact strength. The dense material surface makes it difficult for dust to adhere, making it easier to clean.
