When you cut the rough, you need to pay attention to leave room for it, just like cutting clothes, you should relax it properly. Folk jargon is well said: "Leaving fat can change small, but it is difficult to re-fertilize the fat, the internal distance should be small and not large, remember that the engraving is subtraction." Chiseling blank: first from the overall focus, adjust the ratio and various layouts Then, the concrete form will be gradually implemented and formed, leaving room for shading. At this stage, the volume and lines of the work have become clearer, so the knife method is required to be round and smooth, and it must have sufficient expressiveness;
3, repairing light: the use of fine carving and thin knife method to repair the knife marks in the fine blanks, so that the surface of the work is fine and perfect. Require that the knife is clear and fine, or smooth, or straight, or rough, in an effort to accurately express the intent of the work;
4. Polishing: According to the needs of the work, the wood carvings are honed with woodworking sandpaper with different thickness. It is required to use coarse sandpaper first and then fine sandpaper. Grind in the direction of the fiber of the wood until the desired effect;
5, coloring glazing: with a hard brush, a small hard brush, a color cylinder. Pigmented pigments generally refer to water-soluble ones such as gouache, watercolor or shoe polish. They are characterized by small coverage and strong permeability. Oil painting acrylic paint should not be used.
The method of wood carving coloring is mainly to grasp that the wood and the pattern are still visible under the coverage of the pigment, and some wood grain is more clearly colored. Therefore, when blending colors, it should not be too thick. The ratio of pigment to water is 30:1. It should be thin and transparent. So even if it is repeated several times, the wood will not be covered. If the color is properly matched, the water content of the brush should not be too much. Don't rush to find it. Otherwise, some deep recesses will accumulate color and tend to produce uneven effect.
Coloring is not only to make up for some wood defects or defects, but also to enrich the material texture and the beauty of the form. Therefore, when the work is colored, it should be determined as appropriate, and it is required to reflect the needs of the content form of the work as much as possible, and conform to the various aesthetics of natural wood.
Wood carving should not be polished immediately. Be sure to wait (after about 12 hours), wipe it with a clean cloth until it produces a uniform luster and a smooth feel. Some works can be wiped out according to the situation, so that the background color of the wood is slightly revealed, forming a rich color feeling, and at the same time strengthening the layering of the work.
