1. Malformed roots. In the early stage of radish development, the growth point of the main root is damaged or hindered, resulting in lateral root hypertrophy, fleshy root bifurcation or other types of malformations. According to the study, it is easy to form deformed roots under the following conditions: soil erosion due to excessive rain or excessive irrigation; application of unfertilized organic fertilizer or uneven fertilization; soil tillage layer is too shallow or hard rock under the root; The main root of the seedling stage was bitten.

2. Cracking roots. The soil is dry for a long time, the growth of the roots temporarily pauses, and then the rain or water is drastically dropped, and the roots grow rapidly, which is prone to cracking.

3. Black skin or black heart. Black skin is easily formed under the following conditions: soil is hard, compact, and poorly ventilated; applying fresh manure, the microbial activity in the soil is strong, causing some tissues to appear black skin or black heart due to lack of oxygen. In addition, radish infection with black rot, there will also be black hearts.

4. Heartless. The heart is a disease in which the straight roots rapidly expand and the central transport organization lacks boron nutrition. Potassium deficiency in the soil, excessive application of nitrogen fertilizer in the late growth stage, excessive growth of leaf clusters, can also cause heart.

5. Spicy. The radish contains mustard oil. When the content is moderate, the radish has a good flavor, and if the content is too much, the spicy taste is heavy. When the climate is hot, drought or organic fertilizer is insufficient, it is easy to increase the content of mustard oil in the radish.

6. Bitter taste. During the growth process of radish, when the weather is hot or the application of excessive nitrogen fertilizer and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer are insufficient, the nitrogenous alkaline compound, bitterin, is easily produced in the fleshy root, which makes the radish appear bitter.

7. Deficiency syndrome. Nitrogen deficiency, plant dwarf, slow growth, narrow and thin leaves, yellowish leaves, weak stems, abnormal root development, fine and small, more woody, increased spicy taste; phosphorus deficiency, purple back leaf, small leaves Shrinkage, fleshy roots are underdeveloped; potassium deficiency, initially the leaves in the middle of the leaves are dark green, the leaves are curled, pale yellow to brown, the lower leaves and petioles appear yellow to bronze, the leaves thicken, the roots are abnormally enlarged.
