"Battery is the core of electric vehicles. At present, the lithium battery is equipped with ordinary pure electric bus. In the case of fast charging, it can charge 100 kWh per hour, charge 3-4 hours, and the car can run 150 kilometers." Nanjing University of Science and Technology Associate Professor Hu Wenbin said that his team has made great progress in shortening the battery charging time. They developed a pure electric bus lithium battery, which can be charged for 40 minutes, the bus can run 150 kilometers continuously, and the 17-21 seat CMB and Small bus, charging a single charge, running downtown is enough.
"The internal structure of the lithium battery we have developed has changed. The core technology is the self-contained cooling system and the intelligent battery energy management system." Hu Wenbin introduced.

He explained that the battery of a bus is actually a battery pack. It is connected by more than 150 batteries. When the whole battery was charged, the specific performance of each battery will not be monitored. The charging effect is the worst. The battery is closely related, so it is greatly discounted, just like we usually put the old and new batteries into the flashlight, the old battery will greatly reduce the use of the new battery. The intelligent battery energy management system can monitor the temperature, power and actual charge absorption rate of each battery to adjust the current during charging, and truly achieve balanced charging of each battery. “The first and third battery charge absorption rates are poor. The current will increase the point; otherwise, the current will be smaller."

The battery's own cooling system is different from the batteries on the market today. Today's batteries are cooled by fans. The batteries in front are cooled quickly, and the batteries in the back are cooled slowly. Their cooling system relies on a special kind of liquid to remove heat evenly and quickly.

"The advantages of environmental protection, saving money, and easy driving are well known. In fact, he has a 'hidden' advantage." Hu Wenbin said, "Ordinary cars need regular maintenance, such as changing oil, changing coolant, cleaning oil circuits, these pure electric buses. No need, take the 5-way bus as an example. After replacing this route with an electric car, you can save more than 10 million yuan in maintenance costs a year."

It is reported that the construction of charging piles for electric vehicles is also in progress. According to Chen Zijian, chairman of Nanjing Yijia Electric Co., Ltd., the current charging piles are mainly covered by public areas, supplemented by about 10% of residential parking spaces. Currently, Nanjing has 5000 charging piles, this year plans to add 7,000 charging piles to cover the whole city. The charging pile must meet the national standards for new energy vehicles and will be enhanced for compatibility in the coming year to accommodate a diverse range of vehicle models.
