In modern home decoration, the use of wood is related to the quality of the entire decoration project, and there are many varieties of wood, including northern fir, eucalyptus, southern sandalwood, teak, and imported rosewood, nanmu, etc. It is also very different. It is very important for us to choose which kind of wood, so the following basic principles can be used for reference:
1. The color is positive. All kinds of wood have their original colors, such as red pine, sapwood light yellow, heartwood yellow brown, sapwood light yellow; eucalyptus sapwood light yellow brown, heartwood dark gray brown; eucalyptus sapwood yellow white, heartwood dark gray; Brown, sapwood gray; ash heartwood light brown, sapwood is lighter; eucalyptus sapwood is light yellow, white with brown, heartwood dark brown; walnut wood sapwood grayish brown, heartwood light gray brown. If the wood appears green, pink or blue stripes, spots, indicating that the wood has been mold reproduction or has begun to decay.
2. The texture is smooth. Wood knots on the wood itself often destroy the smoothness of the texture. The dead knot is formed when the branches die during the growth process and the fiber joints are interrupted. It will greatly reduce the strength of the wood, and special care should be taken when selecting and using it. Soft joints mean that the knots are looser than the surrounding wood, and the strength of the wood is also reduced. However, compared with the two, the soft joints and the wood structure are tight, and the fibrous structure is normal, which generally does not affect the effect of use. Special attention should also be paid to the fact that some wood fibers are not arranged properly, and they are inclined and twisted. Such wood is prone to warp, cracking, and low strength along the wood grain, and needs to be carefully selected.
3. No decay. Wood is very easy to decay. Once it decays, the color changes, it has a rotten smell, and the structure is loose and brittle. However, the shallow rot is dried and can be used after the asphalt is applied. In principle, it does not affect the use.
4. Less insect eyes. If the diameter of the insect eye is more than 3 mm, the level of use should be reduced; the insect eye with a diameter of less than millimeters, the wood in the south should not exceed 5 per meter, and the wood in the north should not exceed 15 per meter. Such material can be used as a coffin.
5. Dry. The moisture content of the wood used for building the house must be less than 18%. If wet wood is used, the volume will become smaller after losing water, which will destroy the structure of the house. Under normal circumstances, the length and contraction rate of wood is about 1‰, but the range of thickness varies greatly, up to 6%-12%.
A ballcock (also balltap or float valve) is a mechanism or machine for filling water tanks, such as those found in flush toilets, while avoiding overflow and (in the event of low water pressure) backflow. The modern ballcock was invented by José Antonio de Alzate y RamÃrez, a Mexican priest and scientist, who described the device in 1790 in the Gaceta de Literatura Méxicana.[1] It consists of a valve connected to a hollow sealed float by means of a lever, mounted near the top of the tank. The float is often ball-shaped, hence the name ballcock. The valve is connected to the incoming water supply, and is opened and closed by the lever which has the float mounted on the end. When the water level rises, the float rises with it; once it rises to a pre-set level, the mechanism forces the lever to close the valve and shut off the water flow. This is an example of negative feedback and of proportional control.
